F1 Hybrid Seeds V Open Pollinated Seeds.

Which are best? As a professional, I use almost exclusively F1 hybrid seeds as I need guaranteed results. Geraniums grown from Fi hybrid seeds can easily be had in bloom within 14 weeks from sowing. Open polinated Geranium seeds often do not flower till the second year. My advice would be buy F1 hybrid seeds for any bedding plants that are being sown indoors and ordinary seeds for hardy annuals for outdoor sowing . Naturally antique varieties of bedding plants long pre-date the modern hybrid types and most of the varieties that survive today do have charm and are very much worth growing
