Tip of the Week

Twilight Stunners
*******************
(1)English Rose "The Pilgrim": One of the David Austin Roses and a fine pale yellow. Deeper yellows faded into the darkness, this gem glowed.
(2)Floribunda Rose "Irish Eyes": A small flowered type with orange edged red blooms. "Irish Eyes" shone in the half light.
(3)Viola cornuta: The violet-blue unexpectedly took on an ethereal sheen.
(4)Hosta "Wide Brim": The wide creamy yellow edge to the foliage was outstanding.
(5)Oxalis triangularis: The deep purple foliage disappeared into the shadows, however the pale lilac bell-like blooms seemed to float in mid air.
(6) Dianthus "Doris": This marvelous border pink in rich salmon appeared to be several shades lighter in the fading light.
(8) Dianthus barbatus: The rich red and purples in the mix crept into the shadows. More highly visible than even the whites was a deep magenta pink.
(9)Allium moly: The sulphur yellow of this pretty little ornamental onion took on a completely different sunlight yellow.
(10)Cheiranthus allioni: The last few blooms on the bright orange Siberian Wallflower were almost dayglo bright.

I hope to expand on this twilight list as the summer progresses.
