Slightly Tender Treasures To Prune Now.

Caryopteris clandonensis:
The blue Spiraea. Cut all branches down to ground level.
Leycesteria formosa:
The partridge berry. Cut all stems down to 6".
Spartium junceum :
Spanish broom. Cut all side branches,(they are thin and whippy), back to 2" from the older stems.
Fuchsia magellanica:
This species and all the hardy hybrids such as "Mrs Popple," "Genii," "Brutus,"and "Tom Thumb." Cut all branches down to ground level.
Senecio "Sunshine":
Cut back all frost damaged and straggly stems.
Eucalyptus gunnii :
If you are growing this plant as a shrub, cut all branches back to a couple of inches from the ground.
Lavatera arborea:
Cut all the branches of the shrubby mallow back to 6."
Ceanothus "Gloire De Versaille," "Topaz" and "Marie Simone":
Late summer blooming deciduous Californian Lilacs. Prune all side branches back to 3 " from the main stems.
Perovskia atriplicifolia:
The Russian Sage. Cut all stems back to 6" from the ground.
Lupinus arboreus:
The tree Lupin. shorten all branches back by one third.
Santolina chamaecyparissus:
Cotton Lavender. Old plants tend to become leggy and bare at the base. Cut back to ground level.
Romneya coulteri:
The Tree Poppy. Cut all stems down to ground level.
Tamarix pentandra:
The late summer blooming Tamarisk. Cut back 50% of branches to ground level.
Acer negundo "Flamingo":
This species only when grown as a shrub. Cut branches down to 12" from the ground.

Salix alba "Chermesina":
The red barked willow. Cut down to ground level.
Salix alba "Vitellina":
The yellow barked willow. Cut down to ground level.
Salix daphnoides:
The violet barked willow. Cut down to ground level.
Cornus alba and stolonifera:
The red and yellow barked dogwoods. Cut down to ground level.
Rubus cockburnianus:
The Whitewashed Bramble. Cut down to ground level.
Jasminum nudiflorum:
The winter flowering Jasmine. As soon as flowering has finished, cut back all the side branches to 3" from the main stems.
